Emergency Medical Technician

Duties and Responsibilities: Emergency Medical Technicians are required to show up at the scene of a crime and perform life-saving techniques if needed. Emergency Medical Technicians are responsible for performing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.  They also have to do patient assessment, burn management, emergency birth assistance and extrication of patients from dangerous situations.  Emergency medical technicians also need to know bleeding control techniques,  they have to know how to bandage injuries, splinting broken bones, and how to use automated external defibrillators.

Average Salary: $20,690- $54,690

Education Requirements:  Approved training programs, state licensure, NREMT exams( depends of state)

Demand for this Profession: Between the years of 2014 and 2024 there will be a 24% growth in emergency medical technicians.
