Drum Corps

Duties and Responsibilities: They perform for many people during their summer circuits. The members are usually between the age of 13-22 and are members of Drum Corps Associates  or Drum Corps International. They are in festivals, parades and many other festivities. Participants must also be physically active. They prepare a new show every year that is about 8-12 minutes long in length and they refine it during the summer tour. They learn many varieties of music such as jazz, rock, symphonic, big band, wind band, rap, Broadway, vocal, etc. They must be ready to perform at any given moment and are required to learn the field show as soon as possible. Competitive junior corps spend about 10 and 15 weeks on tour over the summer and perform full time. All -age and Alumni Corps have a less demanding schedule and usually only perform on the weekends.

Average Salary: The average salary for the drum corps international jobs is $64,204.

Education: Musically talented, Plays Brass instruments or Drums.

Demand: Expands every year without a constant rate.

Reflection:

I would like to be in Drum Corps because I have always loved music and I am currently in a Marching Band. This would also be a great experience to be in because you meet people internationally who share the same love as you do.

I believe that this quote is trying to say that the only people that live a good long healthy life are the people who have done good by loving others and putting others before themselves. Those who do good are people who care about others and never put them through so much pain. For example in Super Bowl Sunday Tom Brady dedicated his win to his mother who has been going through chemotherapy and he never thought about himself being the MVP at any moment. But on the other there's Aaron Rodgers who is the quarterback for the Green Bay Packers and he hasn't talked to his family in 2 years!! He also didn't attend his grandfather's funeral and he didn't show up to his closest friends wedding when he was a groomsman. There are many different people around the world many behave differently like Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers. There are people like Tom Brady and there are people like Aaron Rodgers. Throughout the years that it takes to realize you have done something wrong someone would already stepped up to fix it and may have taken the limelight from you. These are the people who do good for a living and not for an image. The image is just to boost yourself into the world but it is not something you should really care about. You can't be Tom Brady and you can't be Aaron Rodgers but you can be yourself and you can always look back at them to see how you want to make your choices. Be a person who does good not a person who does bad.

I believe this quote is saying that everything can change depending on how hard you want to work to make it change. If you were like Ben Carson and you lived in poverty but you absolutely hated it hated but you didn't do anything to change it then you're going to live in poverty for your whole life. But if you decided that you wanted to change it and you went to school and you became involved and you were also at the top of your class then everything will turn out better and you will soon leave poverty behind. Don't lie to yourself and say that everything will get better when you sit and wait because the only person that can change your future is you. It may have many ups and downs but if you work correctly everything will soon pay off. Like Ben Carson said in order to become something(surgeon, lawyer, doctor, etc.) you must have a education. Education is the latchkey to success. In order to work hard and learn to do all the things you know at this point and beyond you must have education to continue on the right path. You can't let the present compare to your future. You make the choices that change your future because you are the only person that can change it.

What this quote is trying to say is that you can't follow everyone that is doing the wrong things because it is not right. If you follow the people who choose the wrong then you are more determined on fitting in then being yourself. When you are being yourself you are making the choices that benefit you and benefit you in the correct way. When you try to follow other people such as a group of popular kids start smoking and you follow them just to fit in then you are choosing to not be yourself and suffer the consequences. The consequences could be going to jail for smoking as a minor or losing your freedom, not being able to hang out with your friends and losing the trust of those you loved most, etc. If you decided to go the other way and turn your back to the popular kids when they began smoking you could have avoided all the consequences. Another example of this is cheating. So many people cheat and don't say anything because they know they will suffer the consequences. If you see a cheater it is right to speak up. If you are failing a class and you decide to cheat don't you feel the guilt hitting you on the inside? Doesn't it add more weight to you? You shouldn't cheat and if you do it is better to tell the teacher you did. You will still suffer the consequences but not as hard as if you never told them. Every small action you do can impact you in such a big way. Make the right choices and choose the right people. It takes courage to stand alone especially when you know you are the doing the right thing.

What this quote is trying to say is that when you show you have enthusiasm for something it is showing that you are going to make a difference in getting it done. When you have enough enthusiasm you can make a difference not only in your work but also in others. When I am football games and I am playing on the stands with the band not everyone is so enthusiastic. I am the person who gets everybody hyped up. The principle and band director tell my parents that this is a good thing because it's showing them that I love what I do. When everyone else is sitting down and the music is playing the band mostly concentrates on the game instead of the music which is not what they are supposed to be doing. In order to be a great band we all must have great enthusiasm. Enthusiasm shows that you enjoy doing whatever it is you do. Something you could show enthusiasm for is school, work, reading, writing, etc. All these things are hidden inside of someone and to let it out you must show the world you enthusiasm for what it is you like. Don't hide you spirit behind a curtain because then it won't shine the way it needs to.
