Presidents Day
Presidents Day is the day we celebrate our first president George Washington. This day is also referred to as Washington’s Birthday. Presidents Day is also celebrated every president of the past, present and future of the United States. Many believe that we also celebrate Presidents Day honor both Lincoln and Washington’s birthdays which were February 12th and 22th. This holiday is also a day where many people across the nation get a three-day weekend. We also celebrate Presidents Day to remember the wars that George Washington led the nation through and to honor those who died fighting alongside him. There some things that people do on this day that also make it special to the nation. They visit presidential monuments, people visit presidential statues, celebrate with parades, etc.
Presidents Day is celebrated on the third Monday every February. Presidents Day was first celebrated in the year of 1885.
