  I believe that this quote is saying that you don't need to look good to make the impact on the world, you need to be kind to others and that will truly impact the world. If you have good looks, strength, and riches, how long do you think they are going to last? Not very long because in reality none of those things are necessary. When you have good looks you tend to make others feel down about themselves because you think that they want to be like you. When you have good strength you tend to make fun of others because of how weak they may look. When you have riches you treat others as if they were your slaves because you think you have all the power in the world. Well news flash. There's something that can break down all of that. A right heart. A person who has a right heart doesn't need to have good looks, strength, or riches because they know what they are capable of when they are being kind to others. A right heart means you have a kind heart, it means that you treat others with respect despite what they look like or how they act. A right heart as so little power but they use to shine brighter than those who have strength, looks and riches. A person with a right is the light that guides everyone out of the darkness because they don't want others to go through pain. A person with a right always does the right thing. For example if the strongest person in your class did more push-ups than you and they started laughing when you were struggling a person with a right heart would come over an tell you that there are many more chances to do more than others. But you always have to believe in yourself. Everyone can have a right heart, you just have to make the right choices and believe in yourself and others.

Student Success Statement 3/10/2017

I believe that this statement is trying to say is that the only that way you can see what affects your life is by the decisions you make today. If you make a bad decision then bad things are going to happen in life and if you make a good decision then good things are going to happen in your life. Everything is laid out by what you decide to do today. For example let's say that you have an early dismissal today and you don't tell you parents because you want to go out and eat with your friends. That bad decision determines what could happen to you when you get home and your parents find out about where you really instead of telling them the truth and just asking for permission. Just because you think it is fine to do something doesn't mean you should do it. Another example would be if you tell your mom that you are going to go to your friends house to study because you have a big test the next day. She let's you go. You go to your friend's house and study and come home before 10 just like your mom asked you to. That good decision may have just given you more trust from your mom because she knows that you did not lie to her about going to study. Everything you do affects your life in some way. It may be small and it may be big but no matter what always do the good deed and everything small that comes out of it turns into something to look forward to.

 

Opthalmologist

Ophthalmologist

Duties and Responsibilities: Ophthalmologist are are doctors that treat diseases and conditions that affect the eye. They are also known as “eye doctors” and they also perform some of the same duties as the  optometrist but they differ because they perform eye surgery but they also  treat eye diseases, and they also help with before- and after- eye surgery problems and care. They also examine the eye and prescribe contact lenses and glasses to their patients if necessary. They may also give their patient vision and eye tests to see how their sight is working. They must have strong physics and math skills and a robust medical knowledge. Some ophthalmologist also own their own their own practice center which means that good management and administrative skills could also be helpful.

Salary: Their average salary is $197,700 for the ophthalmologist.

Education: To become an ophthalmologist you have to, complete medical school, 3-8 years internship residency, have a state license(varies on state) and a 4-year Bachelor’s Degree.

Demand: 14% increase between 2014-2024.

I would not like to be one because I don’t really want to go to medical school. I want to go to law school or music school. I also have a hard time processing math which is a key requirement in this job.

Student Success Statement 3/08/2017

 I believe that this quote is saying that you can only tell what your future is going to be like if you live up to what you want to become in life. If you say you are going to graduate high school with straight A's then you have to work hard and on your final report in senior year when you see that you have straight A's then you have predicted your future by creating with all the hard work you did throughout your high school years. For example when I was little, I always told my mom that I was going to be in the school band so that one day I can be in the Rose Parade. I am living up to this dream because currently I am in my school's marching band and I am practicing very hard to join All City or Pasadena Honor Band so that I can fulfill my dreams of being in the Rose Parade. I predicted that I would be in a marching band and I created my future by learning the flute and joining my middle school band and the Linda Marquez Gladiator Band. If you were to say that you want to be a graduate from UCLA with a 4-year Degree then the only you can predict that you will is by creating the effort that is going to result in you going to UCLA and receiving your 4-year diploma. Never let anything hold you back because then you will never be able to create your future the way you want it to be. And remember the only way to predict what you want to be or become in the future is to create the effort that will push in that direction.
 

Operating Room Technician

Operating Room Technician

Duties and Responsibilities: They are responsible for various pre-, intra- and post- surgery duties within a hospital. A surgeon and registered nurses supervise them while working. They are mostly employed in hospitals but some work in outpatient care centers, ambulatory care centers, and in offices of doctors and dentist who do outpatient surgeries. They are also known as surgical technologists. There are three types of operating room technicians which are; scrub surgical technologist, circulating surgical technologists, and second-assisting technologist. Each post is responsible for different duties and requires separate skills.

Salary: $45,940 is the average salary for all operating room technicians.

Education: Graduate from a surgical technology program, 2 year Associate’s Degree, Certification, must be emotionally stable, quick responder, and conscientious.

Demand: 15% growth between 2014-2024.

I would not like to be a operating room technician because it is hard for me to be emotionally stable. I find this topic very interesting but as I said before it is very hard for me to control my emotions.

Student Success Statement 3/07/2017

I believe that this is quote is trying to say is that before you decide to do something you should ask yourself if it is right or wrong then if it is right, go ahead and do it but if it is wrong then forget it. There are only paths in life the right and wrong. If you go towards the wrong path then you have been choosing the wrong answer your whole life. If you decide to go down the right way then you have been choosing to go through the correct path. Think about this. It is after a school game and you and your teammates want to celebrate. One of the guys suggest that you guys go to the bar and another one suggest that you guys just go and get some food. Which one would you pick? The bar may seem like a reasonable selection because you deserve to relax and have a drink or two right? WRONG! If you go to the bar then you are only putting your life at risk because one drink can already determine that you are in for a DUI. But if you go and get some food then you can go home and have a little after party with the team. The food is the better decision at this point. When you come across questions like these you have to ask yourself if it is the right or wrong thing to do and then think about the aftermath. So when you ever get asked hey let's go get a drink. First you need to think about it then you must determine what could happen if you do get a drink and finally you reply with what you think is right which would be no because you have to get home. Everything counts in life so make sure that you make the right choices.
