I believe that John Wooden is trying to say that who you are on the inside matters more than who you are on the court. You have to be true to your personality. Everyone is unique and you have to your uniqueness. When you are mean off the court you don't often get along with you team mates. If you are very kind to anyone you see no matter who they are, everyone will get to see the better side of you. John Wooden showed everyone he was hard worker. Therefore persevering his image that is shown today. Wooden is trying to say that you are perfect just the way you are, don't change for anyone or anything. You actions and scores depend on you and who you want to become.
